Volgens de recente cijfers van de Market Monitor 2024, gepubliceerd door Becom, blijft de digitale koopkracht van de Belg stijgen. Maar hoe ziet dat er concreet uit? En wat betekent dit voor bedrijven die online actief zijn?\u00a0Deze cijfers en trends geven een goed beeld van wat we in 2025 kunnen verwachten. Voor bedrijven is het cruciaal om de trends van vandaag te begrijpen om voorbereid te zijn op de uitdagingen van morgen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Overzicht van e-commerce 2024<\/h4>\n<p>De Belgische e-commercemarkt blijft groeien. Zo werd er voor \u20ac17,4 miljard online aangekocht, een stijging van 6,7% ten opzichte van 2023. Daarmee bereikt het online aandeel 25,2% van de totale aankopen, wat voor het eerst meer dan een kwart van alle aankopen vertegenwoordigt. Niet alleen de totale uitgaven stijgen, ook het aantal online aankopen groeit met 4,6% tot 179 miljoen transacties. Daarnaast blijft het bereik van de online markt groeien: 8,9 miljoen Belgen deden in 2024 minstens \u00e9\u00e9n online aankoop, wat een stijging betekent van 5,3% vergeleken met het jaar ervoor.<\/p>\n<p>De Belgische online consument kocht in 2024 gemiddeld 20 keer online, goed voor een jaarlijkse uitgave van \u20ac1.954 per persoon, met een uitgave van ongeveer \u20ac97 per aankoop. Dit is een lichte stijging in vergelijking met 2023. De cijfers maken duidelijk dat e-commerce in Belgi\u00eb is uitgegroeid tot een volwaardig verkoopkanaal. Tegelijkertijd blijft de uitdaging voor bedrijven om deze groei te behouden door te blijven investeren in de digitale klantbeleving.<\/p>\n<h4>Omnichannel-strategie wordt onmisbaar als bedrijf<\/h4>\n<p>Waar de totale markt (online + offline) blijft groeien, zien we dat de groei in online bestedingen (+6,7%) sneller gaat dan offline (+2,5%). Toch blijft offline voorlopig het grootste aandeel behouden, al wordt de kloof steeds kleiner en kleiner. De cijfers maken duidelijk dat consumenten steeds vaker beide kanalen combineren. Dit wijst op een groter volume aan kleinere aankopen (denk aan kleding en FMCG). Bij diensten, zoals reizen en vliegtickets, geldt het omgekeerde. Diensten zijn verantwoordelijk voor 34,5% van de online aankopen in aantal en 51,3% van de online aankopen in euro. Dit betekent dat er minder online aankopen van diensten worden gedaan, maar dat de prijs van deze transacties hoger ligt.<\/p>\n<h4>Topsectoren in de kijker<\/h4>\n<p>Binnen de e-commerce blijft kleding de absolute koploper als het gaat om het aantal aankopen, met maar liefst 32,3 miljoen transacties. Wanneer we kijken naar de aankopen in euro, staan reisgerelateerde diensten aan de top, goed voor \u20ac4 miljard aan pakketvakanties. Binnen de dienstensector springt gaming &amp; gambling eruit, met 24,4 miljoen aankopen, waarmee het de populairste categorie is in zijn segment.<\/p>\n<h4>Snelstgroeiende categorie\u00ebn<\/h4>\n<p>Sinds 2023 is er een duidelijke toename in de online productuitgaven. Vooral in speelgoed (+17,33%), elektronica (+9,98%) en huis &amp; tuin (+8,38%) geven consumenten dit jaar meer online uit ten opzichte van vorig jaar. Tegelijkertijd zien we dat offline uitgaven in veel categorie\u00ebn dalen, zoals bij media &amp; entertainment (-8,90%) en sport &amp; recreatie (-8,21%). De groei in e-commerce zet zich voort, niet alleen in het aantal online kopers, maar ook in de verscheidenheid van sectoren en producten. Daarbij wordt de combinatie van offline en online kanalen steeds belangrijker. Een doordachte omnichannel-strategie, waarbij de klant centraal staat, biedt kansen om relevant te blijven in een veranderend koopgedrag.<\/p>\n<h4>Conclusie: digitalisering blijft belangrijk<\/h4>\n<p>De Belgische e-commerce markt groeit verder en ontwikkelt zich tot een volwaardig verkoopkanaal naast het offline kanaal. 2024 is het jaar waarin online voor het eerst meer dan een kwart van alle aankopen uitmaakt. Dit vormt een duidelijke basis voor de trends in 2025: meer personalisatie, betere integratie tussen offline en online en meer verwachtingen van de consument rond snelheid en gemak.
