Empirisch bewijs voor het sociale-mediagebruik als op beloning gebaseerd gedrag is echter schaars. Toch worden hierover conclusies getrokken.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reward<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">learning<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Uit een big data-analyse onderzoek is gebleken dat mensen de berichten op zo\u2019n manier spreiden dat het aantal\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">likes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0dat ze gemiddeld ontvangen wordt gemaximaliseerd. Er wordt sneller gepost nadat er een hoog aantal\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">likes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0behaald is en minder vaak wanneer er minder\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">likes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0ontvangen worden. Dit patroon sluit nauw aan bij het bekende mechanisme van\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">reward<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">learning<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(leren door beloning). Dit mechanisme suggereert dat er sprake is van vergelijkbare principes zoals die bij dieren te zien zijn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Onderzoek<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Het big data-analyse onderzoek is vervolgens op zoek gegaan naar bevestiging van deze bevindingen door een online experiment. Dit experiment is uitgevoerd op een Instagram-achtig platform. Op dit platform konden de deelnemers van het onderzoek grappige beelden met een spreuk of bijvoorbeeld\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">memes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0prosten. Zij ontvingen hiervoor\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">likes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0als feedback.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Influencers<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">De personen die het vaakst in deze situatie terecht komen, zijn de zogeheten\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">influencers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Zij lijken het perfecte leven te leiden, zien er op de foto altijd fantastisch uit, komen op de mooiste plekken van de wereld en krijgen als kers op de taart ook nog vaak gratis spullen toegestuurd van bekende merken. Succes wordt hierbij gemeten in schoonheid, populariteit en geld. Omdat dit wordt weggezet als het perfecte leven, willen de \u2018normale\u2019 burgers dit ook. Zij voelen de drang om ook zo\u2019n leven te moeten leiden. Menig persoon kleurde afgelopen jaar groen van jaloezie tijdens het scrollen door zijn of haar Instagram-feed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Communities<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ondanks de jaloezie en de perfecte plaatjes heerst er toch een community-gevoel, wat van belang is op\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">social<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0media. Facebook is bijvoorbeeld \u00e9\u00e9n grote community, maar geeft ook de mogelijkheid om groepen aan te maken over een specifiek onderwerp waardoor er subgroepen ontstaan. Op deze manier zorgt het platform wereldwijd voor verbinding en het onderhouden van contanten, een mogelijkheid die we anders nooit gehad hadden.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Affiliate<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0marketing<\/span><\/b><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Social<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0media speelt dus een prominente rol in het alledaagse leven.
