Publisher Spotlight: Give as you Live

GAYL Landscape

For the second of our Publisher Spotlight blogs of 2019, we spoke with Ross Attwood, Retailer Partnerships Manager of Give as you Live to discuss the origins of their brand and what sets them apart from the Cashback/Reward scene in the UK.

What can you tell me about Give As You Live and how did the idea come about?

Give as you Live is a free way to raise money for charity, just by shopping online. We work with over 4,300 retailers and users can support any charity in the UK.

It was launched in 2010 as an offshoot of our Everyclick.com website which raises money via a search engine and fundraising pages. As a company, everything we do is about enabling people to raise money for charity. Back then, we could see that the affiliate model could be used to raise money, just as it was by cashback and loyalty sites for cash/points/etc.

Given how your product sets you apart from the traditional cashback and reward publishers, have you found there to be challenged on how your message gets across?

Quite the opposite, the popularity of the big cashback publishers gives us a great starting point when introducing new retailers, clients and users to Give as you Live, with our clear USP being the charitable donations we raise.

What new and exciting opportunities do you have coming up in the near future for advertisers to get involved with?

Having hit £10million raised earlier in the year we are planning celebrations in April with Give as you Live week. We aim to raise £10,000 in the week with competitions for users and our charities to win huge donations. The redevelopment of our app last Q4 was a big milestone for us and it makes it even easier for users to raise those vital donations. Everything else can be found in our latest Q2 pack; please get in touch if you would like to see what else we have planned.

How do see the affiliate landscape to evolve throughout 2019 and beyond?

We see the affiliate channel as a key component of retailers online strategy; with the incoming uncertainty of Brexit and the ongoing squeeze on high street stores, a retailer’s online presence is going to be more important than ever to ensure they are still in the right place at the right time for those all-important sales. Give as you Live is a fantastic publisher for both high street stalwarts as well as new-to-market retailers. With over 4,300 stores listed onsite, we aim to allow users to raise with every shop!

What is it about TradeTracker that has helped you grow business with the advertisers we’ve been working with?

The ease of use is essential when it comes to working with networks; with over 4,300 stores live onsite we need to be able to easily manage changes and keep pages up-to-date. The clear UI and retailer management helps us spend less time completing background admin and more time generating sales for retailers and donations for charities.

We’d like to thank Ross and Give as you Live for providing us with insights and how their charity donations provide an additional angle to show the worth of the affiliate channel. Be sure to visit their site and discover how Give as you Live can add value to your affiliate program with TradeTracker.
